Beach, Pine Forest & Nature

A peaceful Blue Flag beach resort surrounded by Mediterranean pine forest and the San Rossore nature reserve.
Tirrenia offers a different pace from the glamorous Versilia resorts. This peaceful beach town sits within a vast Mediterranean pine forest, bordering the San Rossore-Migliarino-Massaciuccoli Natural Park — 24,000 hectares of protected coastline, wetlands, and woodland.
Founded in 1932, Tirrenia was designed as the "Pearl of the Mediterranean." Today it retains a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with 5 kilometres of Blue Flag beaches, well-equipped bagni (beach clubs), and a promenade perfect for evening strolls.
The surrounding nature reserve offers walking and cycling trails through pristine pine forest, opportunities for birdwatching, and access to wild, undeveloped beaches. The CONI Olympic training centre brings international athletes here, and golfers enjoy two courses just steps from the sea.
For yoga, Tirrenia provides the ideal combination: clean beaches for morning practice, shaded forest for midday meditation, and easy access to both Pisa (15km) and Livorno (10km).
Food & Wine
Tirrenia's beach restaurants serve fresh seafood in a casual setting. For a special experience, dine within the San Rossore park at one of the agriturismos. Local Pisan wines pair perfectly with grilled fish.
